The results of his work have been excellent and he has been recognized for his success. He holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and was given a Group Achievement Award from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for his work with Satellite Communications in developing nations. He was President of the Society of Telecommunications Consultants (STC) and was Manager of the Consortium of School Networking (CoSN) Emerging Technologies Committee publication on “Advanced Collaboration Technologies”.
He has spoken widely on at major conferences on technology, project management and network management and has served on and advised United States Government advisory committees including, The Federal Communications Commission, Committee on the 700 MHz Public service Band; he participated in Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) 1900 MHz Wireless Standards Group.
A recent consultant assignment central to realizing a telecom carrier’s critical business objective was as Project Manager for the Operational Support System of General Communication (Alaska) Mobile Wireless Systems. Sindell managed the development and deployment of the OSS for a regional GSM/CDMA voice and data mobile wireless network and wired alternative system with a satellite, microwave, and fiber backbone. This project included the successful software development and hardware and software deployment for a distributed network management system (NMS) and the development and integration of a new customer provisioning system. The core of these systems was created in less than six months from commitment to ‘go live’.
